About the role

Join Helix Traffic Solutions – Traffic Safety Supplies – a national leader in traffic control, work zone safety, and roadway infrastructure services. We serve Virginia and Maryland with a comprehensive range of traffic safety equipment, signage, and support services for projects of all sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Receive, inspect, label, store, and organize incoming shipments.
  • Count, verify, and accurately check in inventory.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Organize, consolidate, and maintain inventory to maximize warehouse efficiency.
  • Continuously improve methods of storing and organizing materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, yard, showroom, and all work areas.
  • Inspect, clean, organize, repair and maintain rental equipment.
  • Break down pallets and consolidate inventory as needed.
  • Run local deliveries when required.
  • Learn the field applications of company products to better support customers.
  • Assist with front counter sales by answering phone calls, responding to emails, assisting walk-in customers, entering customer orders, and helping identify customer needs and product solutions.
  • Follow all company safety policies and assist with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new software and technology.
  • Some mechanical or technical aptitude preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment and perform manual labor throughout the shift.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime or assist with late deliveries when business needs require.
