Inventory Associate

About the role

As an Inventory Control Associate at DSV, you will operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. You will perform computer data entry for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance, and assist supervisors in ensuring facility compliance with quality standards. This role is key to maintaining accurate warehouse inventory and supporting operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate warehouse inventory and resolve inventory-related issues.
• Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues.
• Return material from customers to the factory and transfer material to appropriate areas.
• Relocate material to maintain inventory range and locations.
• Operate equipment safely and autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervision.
• Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Maintain records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.
• Conduct physical inventory and daily/monthly cycle counts as required.
• Support shipping/receiving in locating missing items throughout the facility.
• Perform safety audits and report/correct unsafe operations.
• Participate in daily start-up and staff meetings.
• Use PC skills for email and generating reports.
• Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities in product, process, and quality systems.
• Review/investigate issues with inbound/outbound functions (e.g., unloading, checking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, loading).
• Ship material to the factory upon client requests.
• Notify management when procedures require updates.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits.
• Assist supervision/management as needed.
• Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by operations.
• Participate in cross-training to improve knowledge across multiple areas/departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months of experience in logistics, distribution, or a relevant environment.
• Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Skills

• Computer Skills: Basic proficiency, including RF scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions.
• Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling client products.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Adaptability to change and a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in an inventory department.
• 1-3 years of forklift experience.
• Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands

• Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Operate computer and telephone equipment.
• Close and distance vision required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs following proper lifting procedures.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per day.

Work Environment

• Rare exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic/caustic chemicals.
• Low to moderate noise levels.

Pay

Expected base pay range is $18 – $22 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
