About the role
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing inventory data, forecasting demand, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory. They collaborate with various departments to maintain accurate inventory records and improve inventory management practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory levels and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for optimization
- Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models to accurately predict demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
- Maintain and monitor inventory turnover rates and aging inventory to identify slow-moving or obsolete items
- Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical inventory with recorded inventory levels
- Generate reports and provide insights on inventory performance, including stock levels, turnover rates, and inventory accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency and accuracy
- Cook up with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory
- Aid in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures
- Support during inventory planning and budgeting processes
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and operations, to align inventory strategies with business goals

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field, or more than 3 years of experience at the company working directly to the related activities of this position
- Proven experience in inventory analysis or supply chain management
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in inventory data management
- Knowledge of inventory control principles, including ABC analysis, EOQ, and safety stock
- Experience with inventory optimization techniques, such as demand forecasting and inventory replenishment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
