Inventory Analyst

About the role

The Inventory Analyst develops, implements, and maintains procedures and protocols related to inventory control to ensure accurate financial information, and provides work direction to Inventory Specialists in support of these processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the company's accounts receivables department to ensure that all transactions are being accounted for.
  • Works to resolve discrepancies between the amount of inventory and the amount of revenue quickly and accurately.
  • Monitors inventory levels very closely and resolves any issues that may become apparent.
  • Develops and implements systems for accurately managing inventory.
  • Ensures seamless movement of products and inventory.
  • Maintains records regarding inventory control, intake and sales.
  • Reports to upper management regularly and provides recommendations for better inventory control.
  • Assists in inventory deliveries and shipment of inventory as required.
  • Orders new inventory from manufacturers as needed.
  • Interacts with freight forwarders on clearances from FDA and Customs, and delivery of all incoming International shipments.
  • Reconciliation of inventory issues, to include researching all inventory transactions to determine errors or trends causing inventory discrepancies.
  • Process inventory adjustments.
  • Monitors obsolescence and slow moving inventory.
  • Periodic review of the minimum and maximum levels of inventory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a warehouse environment with an emphasis on inventory control, and cycle counts.
  • Previous knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Purchasing experience.
