About the role
The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for ad-hoc analytical projects and process creation, negotiating production with plant production control personnel, managing plant purchases within budget, and providing analytical support for various projects, new business opportunities, and proposals. They will also monitor backorders and take appropriate action to minimize their recurrence, perform inventory management analysis to control inventory balances, and support the demand planning process through forecast/alert reviews and system updates.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate production with plant production control personnel, manage plant purchases to budget and provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals
- Reviews and executes planned purchases as scheduled in order to ensure effective flow of inventory
- Support the demand planning process through forecast/alert review and system updates
- Maintain inventory levels to promote best in class fill rates by scheduling work orders, transfers, and inventory re-works
- Monitor backorders and take appropriate action to minimize recurrence
Requirements
- Solid understanding of inventory management techniques and systems
- Proficiency using an ERP such as SAP or JD Edwards preferred
- Proficiency using CRM system such as Sales Force
- Knowledge and understanding of Procurement Operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, General Management, or Industrial Engineering desirable
- 1-3 Years previous experience in Inventory Planning, Logistics, Customer Service or Procurement Operations preferred
- Intermediate Excel abilities are required, including V-lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, IF statements, charts & graph creation
