Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory record accuracy across all warehouses and satellite storeroom locations, including quantities, units of measure, bin locations, and item descriptions.
  • Own and administer the cycle count program, including count schedules, count assignments, variance research, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, negative balances, unposted issues, and receipt discrepancies in coordination with Warehouse and Accounting.
  • Process and document inventory adjustments, transfers, and write-offs in accordance with company policy and internal controls.
  • Support annual physical inventory activities and audit requests, including reconciliation and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and improve data integrity within the item master, including duplicate item identification, standardized naming conventions, and manufacturer part number accuracy.
  • Analyze consumption history, lead times, and demand variability to establish and maintain min/max levels, reorder points, safety stock, and economic order quantities.
  • Review and adjust stocking parameters for MRO materials, critical spares, and consumables to balance availability against working capital.
  • Identify excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and duplicate inventory and recommend disposition strategies including redeployment, return, or write-off.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Reliability to determine criticality of spare parts and align stocking decisions with equipment risk and outage plans.
  • Support inventory value and turnover targets and provide analysis to explain period-over-period movement.
  • Recommend improvements to stocking strategy, storeroom layout, and replenishment processes based on usage data.
  • Develop and maintain inventory reporting, including stock status, turnover, aging, excess and obsolete exposure, fill rate, and cycle count accuracy.
  • Build and maintain analytical tools and dashboards in Excel and ERP reporting environments to support inventory decision-making.
  • Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to Warehouse, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance leadership.
  • Track and report key inventory performance indicators and identify trends requiring corrective action.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities with inventory data and variance explanations.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager and storeroom personnel to improve receiving, issuing, put-away, and material handling practices that affect inventory accuracy.
  • Support bin location optimization, labeling, barcoding, and storeroom organization initiatives.
  • Carefully monitor open requisitions and purchase orders for stock replenishment items and escalate shortages that place operations at risk.
  • Support kitting, staging, and reservation processes for scheduled work orders.
  • Work closely with Procurement Operations and Strategic Sourcing to align stocking levels with supplier lead times, minimum order quantities, and contract terms.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and material records within ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Participate in supply chain planning meetings, inventory reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with internal controls, inventory policies, and audit requirements.

Qualifications
