Inventory Accountant

About the role

A Junior Cost Accountant is sought to join a global leader in industrial packaging and container manufacturing. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced accountant or financial analyst to contribute to manufacturing finance and cost accounting within a world-class manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, labor, inventory, and production costs
• Investigate cost variances and assist with root cause analysis
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost analysis reports
• Support month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting
• Estimate product costs for both existing and new products
• Maintain monitoring changes in production processes and evaluate financial impact
• Conduct inventory analysis, standard costing, and cost forecasting
• Collaborate with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Participate in financial audits and support internal controls
• Perform additional financial analysis and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-6 years of accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
