Invasive Radiology Technologist, Full Time, 10 Hour, Days

Job Summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking an Invasive Radiology Technologist to assist licensed independent physicians in performing minimally invasive catheter-based diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with a variety of procedures involving vasculature structures and organ systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed independent physicians in performing minimally invasive catheter-based diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures
• Maintain maximal patient safety and comfort
• Work with contrast agents, stents, PTA catheters, wires, guide catheter sheaths, Thrombectomy, atherectomy, and thrombolysis interventional equipment
• Perform basic patient care and assessment techniques
• Ensure high accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members

Requirements

• Technical skills in general radiography and fluoroscopy
• Knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems
• Knowledge of all interventional radiology procedures
• Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital or clinic setting performing diagnostic radiological procedures
• Basic patient care and assessment techniques
• Knowledgeable in radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection and medical terminology
• Certificates from CRT and/or ARRT
• Fluoroscopy permit
• CPR/BLS - Basic Life Support

Qualifications

• High degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
• Communication skills

Skills

• Skilled in the use of interventional radiology equipment
