Job Summary
About the role
This role involves performing peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures under the supervision of a radiologist or physician. The technologist applies independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to execute procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Essential Functions
- Perform procedures proficiently, maintaining high quality standards.
- Aid radiologists or physicians with invasive procedures using sterile techniques.
- Prepare and administer contrast materials as prescribed within scope of practice.
- Ensure proper room preparation, safety, and supply management.
- Implement radiation safety measures and emergency procedures.
- Manage computer functions, record data accurately, and perform quality control tasks.
- Stay updated on departmental changes and participate in call rotations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of one year experience in radiology settings or clinical rotations considered in lieu.
- Certifications: ARRT registration preferred, SCRQSA certification (for South Carolina), and BLS certification.
Skills & Abilities
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and computers.
- Proficient in data entry, basic math, and computer literacy.
- Treat patients of all ages with compassion.
- Experience with Epic Radiant preferred.
