Interventional Radiology Technologist

About the Role

The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs a variety of specialized invasive and non-invasive diagnostic radiologic procedures in collaboration with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the radiology team. They operate diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain optimal quality radiographs for physician interpretation, adhering to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized invasive and non-invasive diagnostic radiologic procedures.
• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographs.
• Apply ALARA techniques to minimize radiation exposure.
• Function independently with limited or no supervision.
• Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of lead and/or manager.
• Recognize pathology and modify examinations to provide complete diagnoses.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Certification as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and commitment to maintaining certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to function with limited or no supervision.
• Capability to assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of lead and/or manager.
• Skill in recognizing pathology and modifying examinations for complete diagnoses.
