Position Overview

Performs a variety of complex radiology examinations, imaging procedures, and interventional treatments within interventional radiology, cardiac cath, and electrophysiology labs. Assists physicians with procedures involving catheters, guidewires, balloons, coils, and treatments, ensuring adherence to safety and technical standards. Responsible for preparing equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, and documenting procedures to meet hospital policies. Participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives to uphold patient care standards, and maintains equipment and work areas in a safe, organized condition. Provides on-call and callback coverage as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology Program.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a radiology technologist, with at least 6 months in IR/Cath lab/EP.
  • Registered with ARRT in Radiography (R) and BLS certified; registry in Vascular Interventional (VI) preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of radiologic principles, proper technique, and positioning.
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize work, and develop treatment plans within established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate techniques and safety measures.
  • Assist medical staff during procedures, handling instruments and devices.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to ensure quality patient care.
  • Complete assigned goals and perform additional duties as needed.
