About the role

Location: Milwaukee, WI, Facility: Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee, Department/Speciality: Imaging, Schedule: Rotating Shift l PRN. Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.

Responsibilities

  • Imaging & Technical Precision: Accurately position patients and select optimal exposure factors and anatomic parameters to produce and submit high-quality images and data to PACS.
  • Patient Care & Safety: Administer contrast media and medications within regulatory scope while monitoring patients for abnormal activity and ensuring strict adherence to radiation protection guidelines.
  • Clinical Quality Improvement: Observe and refine imaging protocols as warranted to enhance diagnostic accuracy and ensure all documentation meets departmental standards.
  • Equipment & Facility Oversight: Maintain a clean, orderly department and ensure equipment functionality by performing routine checks and implementing lock/tag-out procedures for malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date required. General Radiography required in addition to Vascular Interventional Radiology required.
  • State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required. General Radiology and state licensure required by hire or job transfer date required.
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.

Qualifications

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
