Interventional Radiology Tech
Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist on a full-time basis to operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography, as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology Lab (scrubbing, circulating, and recording/monitoring patient status). Responsibilities
- Demonstrate accountability and responsibility and perform procedures in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
- Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Obtain high quality radiographic images; reviews quality of radiographs to insure quality standards have been met.
- Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Maintain effective communication with patient; provides explanation of procedures within scope of practice.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists.
- Responsible for rotating call will be assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Associate Degree from a 2-year AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Valid ARRT credential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 1-3 years licensed experience in Radiology; one (1) year of IR experience preferred
- Angio, Peripheral and Neuro experience a plus
