Interventional Radiology APP

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and assiduous Interventional Radiologist APP to join our expanding, patient-centered radiology team. This opportunity provides the ability to practice the full spectrum of interventional radiology in a collaborative environment supported by experienced physicians and advanced technology at a brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical exams on all patients.
• Obtains and documents patient's medical history and identifies health risk factors.
• Obtains informed consent.
• Documents assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care in the patient record.
• Performs interventional radiology procedures within scope of license and as designated by MVHS Medical Committee and department Radiologist.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, i.e., laboratory work, x-rays, EKG.
• Identifies situations beyond expertise or scope of practice and refers to the appropriate Radiologist.
• Applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice.
• Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health team to plan optimal care for the patient.
• Responds appropriately in emergency situations and applies sound judgment to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Provides age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Stays current with medical advancements, new technology, and new drugs through continuing education.
• Prescribes medications per state laws and non-pharmacological therapies based on patient diagnoses.
• Follows the five medication rights to reduce potential for medication errors.
• Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.
• Attends departmental, organizational, and medical staff committee meetings as appropriate.
• Maintains appropriate privileges.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program or certification from an accredited NP program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital privileges.
• Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR software.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license or current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred: Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty.

Pay

$130,000–$155,000 per year.
