About the role
The Interventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, procedure documentation, patient education and assisting with patient care. This is a part-time (0.8) position working 4 days per week during hours of operation Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm out of our Edina location, traveling to Woodbury occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of radiological equipment & safety, shielding techniques, imaging skills and equipment trouble-shooting skills, analyzing and recording equipment and other equipment utilized in the IR department.
- Circulate and scrub during procedures, patient education, assisting with patient care within scope of practice and inventory management.
- Able to identify adverse events or unanticipated outcomes using critical thinking skills and notifies the medical staff including nurses and physicians appropriately
- Practice Radiation Safety in accordance with regulations.
- Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis
- Request medical records and imaging from other sites
- Assist VIE Provider with accurate data collection, documentation, and data entry for compliance
- Analyze and assist in resolving problems resulting in improvement of patient care, practice, and system operations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology Program
- RT(VI), RT(CV), or RT(CT) preferred
- Willing to cross-train
- Experience as an interventional technologist preferred
- BLS required
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently at least 90% of the time
- Frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequently push/pull patients up to 50 pounds, or patients in wheelchairs weighing up to 300 pounds
- Frequently stand, walk, bend and move continuously throughout the shift
- Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
- Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
