About the Role
An Interventional Radiology Technologist in the Cath Lab assists with complex cardiac procedures, including structural heart interventions. They develop skills in various roles such as circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing during invasive procedures, working closely with cardiologists and the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients by reviewing history, positioning, and site preparation.
- Assist in cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring proper equipment setup and image quality.
- Monitor patients pre-, during-, and post-procedure, reporting abnormal findings.
- Maintain and operate imaging and lab equipment, adhering to safety standards like ALARA.
- Document patient data, process images, and ensure proper communication within the team.
- Participate in training, meetings, and cross-training in Cath/EP labs.
- Transport patients, order supplies, and uphold safety and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and BLS/ACLS provider.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program.
- Preferred: 2+ years radiology or cath lab experience, sterile environment scrub experience, and knowledge of ECG rhythms.
- On-call availability required.
- Structural heart procedure experience is a plus.
