About the role
The Interventional Psychiatry Program Director will oversee a new interventional psychiatry program within the Ambulatory Care Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at UC Irvine. Key responsibilities include clinical administrative oversight, supervising TMS and other rapid acting therapeutic agents, educating residents and fellows, and overseeing research activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical administrative oversight of the interventional psychiatry program
- Supervise additional faculty delivering TMS and other rapid acting therapeutic agents
- Education residents and fellows in TMS and other neurotherapeutic interventions
- Oversight of research activities involving TMS and other neuromodulation techniques
Requirements
- M.D. degree and eligibility for American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification
- Eligibility for a California Medical License
- Demonstrated track record in TMS-based therapeutics
- Experience conducting mechanistic research using TMS and/or clinical trials of neuromodulation in serious mental disorders
- Excellent clinical skills, medical knowledge, and interest in teaching and scholarly pursuits
- Able to contribute to the diverse needs of the diverse patient population served by the Department of Psychiatry
Qualifications

- Track record in TMS-based therapeutics and neuromodulation research

Pay
The salary range for this position is $310,000 - $360,000, based on academic rank and step, and commensurate with experience. Clinically active faculty may be eligible for additional compensation based on productivity.
