Interventional Pain Management Physician (MD/DO)

About the role

This position is based primarily in our Tulsa clinic, where you will provide ambulatory evaluations and interventional pain management services in a supportive, independent practice environment with full administrative and clinical support.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs
  • Perform clinic-based interventional pain procedures as appropriate
  • Prescribe medications in compliance with DEA and CDC guidelines
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, wellness programs, and preventive care
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, EKGs, and imaging studies as applicable
  • Maintain accurate EMR/EHR documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient safety standards
  • Perform minimally invasive interventional procedures, including nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablations, and other advanced pain management techniques
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations focused on pain assessment and functional improvement
  • Develop multidisciplinary treatment plans integrating pharmacologic therapies, physical therapy, psychological support, and interventional procedures
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with radiologists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, primary care providers, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes
  • Monitor patient progress post-procedure and adjust treatment strategies as needed
  • Provide educational sessions on pain management options, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to support recovery and long-term wellness

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pain Management, Anesthesiology, PM&R, or related specialty
  • Active Oklahoma medical license
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • ACLS certification
  • Experience with injections, nerve blocks, RF ablation, or related pain procedures preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate and ethical patient care
  • Maintain CME requirements and emergency preparedness training
  • No COVID-19 vaccine requirement

Additional Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with active medical licensure in the practicing state
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with subspecialty training in Interventional Pain Management
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced airway management or sedation certifications are a plus
  • Experience in outpatient clinic or hospital-based pain management settings preferred
