Interventional Cardiology Physician

Responsibilities

• Collect, record and maintain patient information such as medical histories, reports and examination results.
• Manage and treat patients within scope of practice.
• Analyze records, reports, test results or examination information to diagnose patients medical conditions.
• Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment within scope of practice.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments to patients.
• Monitor patients conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.

Requirements

• Licensure/Education: MD or DO Degree, Valid Illinois Medical License (or ability to obtain IL Medical License), Valid Illinois Controlled Substances License (or ability to obtain IL License), Board eligible or Board Certified.
• Exposure/Sensory Requirements: Exposure to: Chemicals: Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Betadine, cleaning products. Video Display Terminals: Average Blood and Body Fluids: Performs venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection, but the use of universal precautions and protection reduces risk. TB or Airborne Pathogens: Minimal - if a patient is infected, it is possible that the health care worker would be exposed, but it is greatly diminished by adherence to universal precautions. Sensory Requirements (speech, Vision, Smell, Hearing, Touch): Speech: Needed for patient communication in person or over the phone. Vision: Needed to perform venipuncture and specimen handling. Smell: Electrical/fire safety. Hearing: Needed for patient communication in person or over the phone. Touch: Needed to perform venipuncture and specimen handling.
