Intervention Specialist (K-3)
About the role
The Intervention Specialist will report to the Director of Student Services and work collaboratively with the Dean of Academics.
Responsibilities
- Administer, interpret, and regularly review diagnostic and formative assessment data to guide intervention decisions
- Pull students and provide targeted small-group instruction to close learning gaps in reading and mathematics
- Plan and implement evidence-based interventions using prescribed curricula, including Literacy Essentials and Singapore Math
- Create lesson plans for targeted intervention sessions aligned to student needs and data
- Conduct daily and weekly progress monitoring, adjusting instruction based on student response within the MTSS framework
- Create and maintain an intervention schedule to maximize instructional time and students served
- Provide explicit, systematic, and multisensory instruction to support struggling learners
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers to share data and ensure alignment with core instruction
- Support the MTSS coordinator with documentation and communication related to interventions and student progress
- Collaborate with multiple teams to establish appropriate supports for students
- Aid with additional school operations, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Georgia Teaching License
- ESOL certification preferred
- Experience working with children in a school setting is strongly preferred
- Experience in classical education and/or charter schools preferred, but not required

About Cherokee Classical Academy
Cheerokee Classical Academy (CCA) is a tuition-free public charter school that opened in 2025 in Canton, GA. CCA is open to grades K-7 for the 2026-2027 school year and will continue to add a grade each year until reaching a full K-12 configuration. Families who reside in the counties of Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, Paulding, and the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta are eligible to apply for enrollment.
