As an Intervention Specialist, you will create a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. You will provide necessary support to ensure students reach their maximum potential while assisting the Principal in maintaining a school atmosphere where learning is the top priority.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements a program of instruction aligned with the company’s philosophy, goals, and objectives as outlined in adopted courses of study.
• Creates purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize time on task and employ effective teaching strategies.
• Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities, incorporating real-world, application-based examples.
• Maximizes the educational achievement of each student through frequent assessment of strengths and weaknesses, providing appropriate activities to address student needs, and generating progress reports as required.
• Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
• Assigns lessons, corrects student work, and reviews oral presentations.
• Prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
• Maintains current knowledge of subject matter and learning theory, sharing insights for continual improvement of the school’s curriculum.
• Assists in the ongoing curriculum revision process, including the revision of written courses of study.
• Becomes acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students as an extension of regular classroom activities.
• Leads discipline enforcement throughout the school, investigating disciplinary issues, documenting findings, and reporting decisions to appropriate individuals.
• Investigates referrals involving stolen or missing student or school property.
• Works closely with the school guidance counselor, principal, and local law enforcement agencies, making referrals as appropriate.
• Recommends appropriate sanctions, including detentions, campus service, suspensions, and referrals to the Principal for further action.
• Conducts periodic tours of the campus to ensure school and school board policies are enforced.
• Makes periodic classroom visits to monitor effectiveness.
• Assists with the enforcement of school and state attendance policies.
• Counsels students and parents regarding behavioral issues.
• Assists with the supervision of organized student gatherings and ensures all equipment is operational.
• Coordinates school bus supervision before and after school.
• Manages the student lunchroom and work duty assignments.
• Supervises students detained after school for disciplinary reasons.
• Provides feedback to the principal regarding teachers' effectiveness in classroom management and pupil control.
• Ensures consistent enforcement of the school’s code of conduct.
• Participates in school-based leadership opportunities, such as team meetings and lead teacher meetings.
• Convenes scheduled meetings with Guidance Counselors and the Principal to discuss individual cases and the well-being of the student body.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
• Possession of valid teaching certification (if applicable).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of technology relevant to specific job functions.
