Interpreter - Spanish Option (Re-Announcement)
Job Summary
Interpreters provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services during court proceedings as parties and witnesses testify, or when attorneys present oral arguments and motions. Interpreters may also assist court staff with interpreting in a customer service setting, and may provide sight translations, as needed. Interpreters work in a courtroom or office setting and have significant contact with judges, court staff, attorneys, and the public.
SALARY RATE
$89,793.60 - $101,108.80 annually. The starting hourly salary for Interpreter is currently set at $44.48 (approximately $92,518.40 annually).
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid and current certification as a "Certified Court Interpreter" in Spanish, as issued by the Judicial Council of California.

Evaluation and Selection Factors
- The ability to accurately provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services in Spanish.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with court staff and law enforcement personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Maintain a neutral, non-bias position when providing interpreting services.

Qualified candidates will be placed on the Interpreter (Spanish Option) eligible list based on an evaluation of the information contained in the online application. Placement on the Interpreter (Spanish Option) eligible list does NOT guarantee that all candidates will be contacted for interviews.
