Supports Classroom Environment
Fluent interpretation, signed or oral, to facilitate communication effectively to and by students in the classroom.
Specialized Vocabulary
Attains specialized vocabulary for student classes prior to class presentation.
IEP Compliance
Follows students’ IEP as developed by the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee.
Continuous Improvement
Improves sign language skills and level of competency continuously.
Inclusion Model
Aids all students as support facilitators/interpreters in the inclusion model of education.
Instructional Accommodations
Uses instructional accommodations and curricular modifications in effective instructional practice.
Professional Development
Attends professional development regarding support facilitation techniques and communication skills for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Reporting
Reports pertinent information using standardized reporting tools as identified by the Dallas Regional Program for the Deaf.
Confidentiality
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Certification
Maintains certification as required by certifying agency.
Documentation
Maintains all required documentation in a timely manner.
Other Duties
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
State Deaf Grant
Performs all duties relating to the State Deaf grant 100%.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an accredited university
- Interpreter Certification
- Experience interpreting in the Deaf community
- Experience interpreting in the educational setting
Pay
Minimum Salary: $30,029.00
