Opportunity Time Frame
- For OT fieldwork rotations: 12-week internship, 40 hours per week, starting in April and running for 12 consecutive weeks. Start date flexible.
- For OTA fieldwork rotations: 8-week internship, 40 hours per week, starting in April and running for 8 consecutive weeks. Start date flexible.
- Current student of an accredited Occupational Therapy Institution
- OT students: Master’s or Doctoral degree level
- OTA students: Associates degree level
- Must be enrolled at an academic institution with an existing contract with Sheppard Pratt
- Strong foundation in child/adolescent mental health theory, related OT theory and practice, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, group theory and application, and teaching/learning concepts and applications related to staff, client, and caregiver education
- Occupational therapy is part of the continuum of care and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team
- Supervision provided in a 1:1 supervision model by a licensed occupational therapist who is on-site daily
- Both group and individual OT services are offered to all clients, with typically 2-3 OT groups each day and 1:1 sessions, and assessment as deemed appropriate
