Internship - Operating Room Nurse

Role Overview

This position is designed to train licensed Registered Nurses with no prior operating room experience to become perioperative nurses through a comprehensive 5-month Nurse Residency Program. The program combines didactic learning, online modules, lab work, and clinical hours, focusing on developing foundational perioperative skills essential for safe patient care in the OR.

Key Responsibilities

• Recognize and respond to emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Assess patient conditions and monitor throughout shifts
• Document thoroughly

Qualifications & Skills

• Active RN license in good standing
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in any specialty
• Strong critical thinking, technical, and leadership skills

Training & Development

The program includes classroom instruction, simulations, and clinical practice at the hire facility. Completion requires passing assessments, demonstrating professionalism, and attending all program components. Graduates will be prepared for OR certification (CNOR) after two years of experience.
