Internship - MDL Engineer

Responsibilities

• Tool Development: Design and implement software tools to process measurement and simulation data into actionable inputs for SPICE compact models
• Model QA: Create and automate quality assurance checks and validation routines for new SPICE models to ensure robustness and accuracy
• Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets from the 50GHz modeling lab to identify trends, outliers, and improvements for compact models
• Flow Integration: Integrate tooling with existing SPICE modeling workflows and lab infrastructure to improve throughput and repeatability
• Reporting: Generate automated reports and visualizations to summarize model quality metrics and tool performance for stakeholders
• Collaboration: Work closely with SPICE modelers, device engineers, and test technicians to align tool features with modeling needs
• Documentation: Maintain clear code documentation, test plans, and user guides for developed tools and QA processes

Requirements

• Working on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Quality Assurance preferred
• Strong coding experience in Python and/or C++ and familiarity with scripting for data processing and automation
• Familiarity with SPICE or circuit simulation environments such as HSPICE, Spectre, or NGSpice is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently with attention to detail
• Experience with data analysis libraries (NumPy, pandas), plotting tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn), and version control (Git) preferred
• Self-motivated, problem-solving attitude, and willingness to iterate quickly on tooling and QA checks

Pay

Indicative wage range for a qualified candidate in Lexington, KY: US$ 27.00 – US$ 36.50 hourly. Rate will depend on the highest level of education completed.
