Internship, Localization Specialist, IT Applications (Fall 2026)

About the Team:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Localization Intern to join our growing team based in Fremont, California. Tesla's Localization team manages 50 locales, across 40 markets, covering 30+ languages and counting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in localization and translation management while working with our product managers, developers, content authors, local reviewers, and third-party language services providers to create a seamless and positive user experience for all visitors of our website and digital products.

What You'll Do

• Support the production of translations for web content and other digital products, e.g. Mobile app, Tesla Account, E-mails, internal systems
• Aid in identifying and fixing linguistic and market-specific issues before launch
• Respond to translators' inquiries and provide instructions and visual context as needed
• Collaborate with external localization vendors to support translation schedules and quality management
• Work alongside cross-functional teams to learn best practices in language, style and terminology alignment
• Create and maintain linguistic assets like TMs, glossaries, style guides, and reference material
• Contribute to improving the localization process and participate in training sessions with internal and external stakeholders
• Help improve AI prompt for LLM training

What You'll Bring

• Currently pursuing a Degree in Engineering, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Communications or similar field with a graduation date between December 2026 – December 2027
• Strong interest in localization, translation, and/or international product development
• Excellent attention to detail, even under pressure
• Familiarity with translation tools or CAT tools, Smartling experience is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
• Eager to learn and take initiative in a professional setting

Pay

• Expected Compensation $25.20 - $35.34/hour + benefits
• The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
