Opportunity Summary
This internship experience will provide an opportunity to work with a range of patient populations while developing professional and interpersonal skills needed to become a competent social worker.

Time Frame
This opportunity will run from September 2026 - April 2027.
Learning Model
Students will be under the supervision of a licensed social worker and will learn through observation, demonstration, and ongoing feedback to ensure that each individual’s learning needs can be met fully and in an individual manner. Self-reflection, self-evaluation, and peer critique will further help to advance professional growth and development.
Student Expectations
- Report to the unit 2 days a week
- Serve a variety of patient populations on either our child& adolescent or adult service lines and day programs
- Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment
- Communicate with patient’s family/guardian
- Communicate with internal and external treatment team members
- Assist with Discharge Planning
- Conduct clinical groups 1-2 times a week
Readiness to learn from all experiences
Demonstrate patience and compassion when working with those with mental illnesses.
