Internship, Designer, Visualization, Design Studio (Winter/Spring 2027)
This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. International students must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site.
About the Team
As a member of the Visualization Team, you will be responsible for the design and creation of pre-rendered and real-time photorealistic automotive and product imagery, animations, digital assets and environments. Your work has the potential to be seen on a global scale, helping influence people and communities to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
Location: Tesla Design Studio - Hawthorne, CA
Responsibilities
- Render high quality, photorealistic advertising content
- Provide art direction and collaboration with leadership to create visually stunning imagery
- Create realistic and fictitious digital assets and virtual environments
- Help optimize CAD data and assets
- Assist with environmental atmospheric and lighting setups
- Work on material/texture generation and virtual material prototyping (PBR pipeline)
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Digital Production or a related field
- Artistic and technical knowledge in Unreal Engine
- Basic level knowledge in Animations/Films/Cinematography/Photography
- Basic level knowledge of PBR based workflows
- A passion for learning new tools/techniques and open to exchanging knowledge
- Ability to understand color, visual compositions and lighting
- Accustomed to going above and beyond whilst working within tight deadlines
- Excellent communicator, team player, resourceful and organized
- Highly motivated and proactive
- All candidates must submit a portfolio/personal website to be considered for this position
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of traditional 2D/3D software (e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop)
- Character rigging/animation
- Photogrammetry knowledge

Pay
Expected compensation: $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
Full-time (40 hours/week), on-site. Minimum 12-week commitment.
