Internship Details

This is an unpaid internship. We are seeking a motivated intern to support our program!

• Fall/ Spring placement: 15-20 hours a week
• Must be able to start in the summer for training
• One day in June, July, and August
• Must be available for group supervision, bi-weekly team meetings, and agency trainings
• Must be able to work one evening per week
• Agency cars are available, but use of personal car may be necessary
• Must provide proof of current car insurance
• Must feel comfortable, after a training period, to supervise parent/child visits and intervene in the visit when necessary
• Must feel comfortable with in-home family visits
• Pass criminal and CANTS (DCFS) background check

• Trauma and loss work with children
• Juvenile court, DCFS ACR and legal screening process
• Facilitating a Child and Family Team Meeting
• Developing a service plan and visitation plan
• Interview skills
• Mandated reporter training
• Trauma / loss training
• Foster parent recruitment
• Return home, adoption or guardianship process
• Culture, mission, and values of LSSI – Illinois
