About the role

This Child and Family Therapist Internship is for current Master level students in their MSW, MA, or MS programs. Interns in our Child and Family Outpatient Services Program in Hoquiam will gain experience working with a diverse child, youth and families population. Interns will meet with clients in person or via telehealth for outpatient mental health appointments. Interns will gain experience using EBPs, staffing cases, and navigating electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients in person or via telehealth for outpatient mental health appointments
  • Gain experience using Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs)
  • Staff cases
  • Navigate electronic health records
  • Receive weekly supervision as well as weekly group supervision from Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSWs), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs)

Requirements

Behavioral Health Resources will pay for any required credentialing expenditures. BHR is a WDI-approved community behavioral health agency. Behavioral Health Resources (BHR) is a not-for-profit provider of community mental health and substance abuse treatment. BHR has locations in Olympia, Shelton, Hoquiam, and Elma. Qualifications

  • Current Master level students in their MSW, MA, or MS programs
  • Experience working with a diverse child, youth and families population
  • Ability to work with EBPs
  • Knowledge of electronic health records
