About the role

Brightlabs is offering an exciting internship position for a Bachelor (HBO) student with previous internship experience or a Master’s (MSc) student with a hands-on mentality. The ideal candidate will collaborate on projects for clients from diverse fields, including pharmaceuticals, food, water & soil, and industrial applications, to solve a variety of analytical challenges.

Assignments

• Sweet Insights: Advanced Sugar Analysis

  Develop and apply analytical chemistry methods to characterize sugars in food ingredients, beverages, and food using techniques such as HPLC connected to an Evaporative Light Scattering Detector (ELSD) and other detectors. Opportunity to validate methods according to industry standard guidelines.

• Advanced Pesticide Profiling

  Develop novel methods for pesticide analysis on different kinds of foods, primarily using HPLC and GC with MS/MS. Opportunity to validate methods according to industry standard guidelines.

Requirements

• Final-year BSc (HBO) or MSc student specializing in laboratory-focused studies such as (analytical) chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, food sciences, or a related field
• Available for a 6-month internship, full-time (5 days per week)
• Passionate about working in an analytical laboratory environment
• Strong communication skills in English and Dutch
