Internship and Work Based Learning Coordinator - Term*
About the role
The Internship Coordinator manages and leads an internship program for concurrent enrollment students with local business and organizations, working with K12 and CMC partners to support career interests and Work Based Learning Experience. This position cultivates relationships with local businesses and organizations to connect the community with CMC.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all internship programs at CMC Leadville’s HS Partner—Lake County HS.
- Implement robust case management and holistic advising for HS students concerning their career paths and connected Work Based Learning Experiences in High School and into College at CMC or another appropriate institution.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Lake County HS Post Secondary Team and staff an office at Lake County HS to provide support to students.
- Facilitate internship classes and mentor students, ensuring they are prepared for industry placements.
- Act as a liaison with the business community, developing and maintaining relationships with local chambers, EDCs, Workforce Development Centers, and business organizations.
- Attend community meetings and functions to explore ways for CMC to participate or represent the college.
- Communicate the benefits of internships and continuing education to both students and community partners through various channels.
- Teach and grade the 9th Grade Career Exploration Class at Lake County HS, or arrange for a substitute if unable to teach.
- Work with external organizations to host interns, recruit, hire, onboard, and manage partner organizations.
- Coordinate internships and register students, promoting the program and managing promotional materials.
- Maintain accounts/budgets and monitor expenditures, making recommendations for future budget requests/needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, including a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Adult Education, Continuing Education, Instructional Leadership, or related fields, or an associate’s degree with 4 years of related experience.
- Preferred experience in program development, business management, and building community relationships.
- Previous experience with Work Based Learning in a community college or K12 setting preferred.
- Experience with off-campus site coordination, administrative processes, and technology in the workplace, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and internet searches.

Pay
$72,450.60 - $80,500.65 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience.
Schedule
Position will be evaluated annually. Position anticipated to close on June 29, 2026 or until filled.
