Internship, Analysis Engineer, Vehicle & Powertrain Engineering (Winter/Spring 2027)
This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. International students: if your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying.
About the role
Analysis Engineering interns will work on projects supporting the design and production of current and future products. Your application will be considered across multiple teams, including Battery Analysis, Battery Engineering CAE, Drive Systems CAE, Hardware Test Engineering, and Vehicle Dynamics Modeling.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing-centric designs using CAE, CFD, and FEA simulations, balancing performance, durability, crash safety, fatigue, battery safety, and innovative manufacturing methods
- Perform simulations to evaluate sub-systems and full product attributes, including thermal, fluid, electrical, and structural performance
- Build and calibrate models using existing frameworks or novel academic/industry methods, correlating with test data
- Analyze test data, root-cause discrepancies, and produce clear, data-driven reports for design feedback
- Conduct optimization studies (e.g., DOE/DFSS) on components/assemblies to meet mass, cost, and performance targets
- Collaborate with Design, Test, and Modeling teams to enhance predictive capabilities, provide thermal/hydraulic/electrical feedback, and contribute to DFMEA/specifications
- Participate in feasibility analyses for manufacturing, assembly, and service processes
