Internet Travel Consultant (Based in Korea)

About the Role

This role, based in South Korea, is designed for a motivated professional to drive business growth for Rakuten Travel, one of Japan’s largest booking platforms. It offers an opportunity to sharpen sales expertise while transitioning into team management and strategic administration, supporting Rakuten Travel’s transformation into a global Online Travel Agency (OTA).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end relationships with Korean hotel partners, including contract negotiations, rate and inventory management, and promotional strategy.
• Drive inbound travel from Japan to Korea by expanding the hotel portfolio and optimizing property visibility for Japanese users.
• Support Rakuten Travel’s global OTA transformation using data-driven insights and executing marketing strategies in collaboration with Tokyo HQ.
• Work closely with international stakeholders, with potential opportunities for business travel or overseas assignments.

Requirements

• A proven track record in strategy, business planning, and sales.
• Business-level to native proficiency in Japanese; English proficiency (TOEIC 800+).
• A strong analytical mindset and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-border team environment.
• Prior professional experience within an Online Travel Agency (OTA) or travel-tech environment.
• Demonstrated experience in team management or leadership roles.
• A deep passion for the travel and hospitality industry, with a strong interest in driving inbound tourism.
