International Trade Compliance Analyst
About the role
The International Trade Compliance Analyst plays a critical part in ensuring global import and export activities comply with international trade regulations. This role supports business operations by maintaining compliance across material, technology, and data transfers, while partnering cross-functionally to enable efficient and compliant trade practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and apply U.S. and international trade regulations (e.g., CBP, EAR, ITAR, OFAC, FTR) to ensure compliant import/export activities
- Manage daily import operations through brokers, including classification of goods and oversight of filings and compliance to procedures
- Oversee export activities, including audit reviews, AES filings for sensitive exports, and internal shipping coordination
- Procure and manage export licenses (EAR/ITAR) and maintain accurate licensing records
- Develop and maintain procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing movement of goods and technical data
- Partner with internal teams on projects such as equipment moves, system implementations, and risk or contract reviews
- Support customs clearance activities and manage logistics invoicing, including review and approval of import/export costs
- Monitor and improve logistics partner compliance and performance through service reviews and evaluations
- Analyze trade data to identify process improvements and support business decision-making and cost optimization
- Support and administer trade compliance programs, including free trade agreements, duty drawback, and supply chain security initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of and experience with U.S. CBP, ITAR, EAR, FTR laws and regulations.
- Ability to communicate with professionals and people of all levels of the organization and to operate effectively within a team environment.
- Experience implementing and conducting training programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, document library systems, and database management.
- Well-developed organizational, priority management and planning skills.
- Working knowledge of integrated logistics management.
- Detailed understanding of Incoterms, global cargo insurance coverage, and shipping paperwork requirements.
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
