Brief Description Of Duties
The CEAS International Student Success Coordinator works with F-1 undergraduate students in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) and coordinates efforts that support their academic and personal success.
- Provide high quality, proactive and timely advising to students in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) with an emphasis on CEAS F-1 students.
- Help students develop meaningful educational plans that are compatible with career and life goals, including selection of appropriate courses and interpretation of institutional requirements toward established goals.
- Evaluate student records and degree audits each semester and utilize data and analytics to identify areas for intervention.
- Coordinate with Visa and Immigration Services to stay current with policies for F-1 students.
- Affirmative action statement: The CEAS International Student Success Coordinator will work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. They will have strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Program Coordination
Within the assigned cohort, evaluate student records and degree audits each semester and utilize data and analytics to identify areas for intervention.
- Work closely with Visa and Immigration Services to stay current with policies for F-1 students.
- Affirmative action statement: The CEAS International Student Success Coordinator will work closely with CEAS Undergraduate Program Coordinators to ensure that students are aware of how visa policies intersect with their degree plans.
Orientation And Registration
Coordinate with the Office of Global Affairs to provide training materials for incoming international CEAS students to assist them in preparing for enrollment.
- Host virtual information sessions and conduct proactive outreach to help incoming CEAS F-1 students (including those participating in the Intensive English Center programs) progress through their pre-registration requirements.
- Implement registration sessions for the assigned cohort, both one on one and in group settings.
- This will require a strong command of programmatic requirements to make course recommendations for enrollment and evaluating transfer courses.
Divisional Support
Participate in large-scale CEAS events and traditions, including CEAS Convocation. Represent the CEAS at various University programs and events including Admissions open houses/receptions and Admitted Students events.
- Support other initiatives of the CEAS Undergraduate Student Office that build community and encourage engagement and retention within the College.
