International Operations Lead

Overview

The International Operations Lead is responsible for completing day-to-day responsibilities such as quoting, routing freight, tracking shipments, troubleshooting, and overcoming operational challenges. This role also assists teammates with questions or challenges, provides guidance and expertise, trains new international personnel, and works alongside management to provide insights into the team's workload.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, and AIT teammates through phone or email interactions.
• Provide first point of contact for any escalation matters involving the team.
• Aid in training and knowledge sharing with both new and existing teammates.
• Prioritize action items to determine critical timing for shipment coordination to ensure successful transactions.
• Ensure all shipment details are accurately obtained and verified, and that documentation is correctly entered and retained in shipping systems (Cargowise, eDocs).
• Identify and rectify deviations from scheduled transit to correct shipments and meet customer expectations and satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate billing by ensuring all shipments are billed according to company guidelines and timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Associate's Degree (Preferred)
• 2+ years working knowledge of Freight Forwarder International Operations including: Basic IATA/NVOCC, FAA, TSA, Export Regulations, AES, and General CBP knowledge (Required)
• 3+ years industry experience in export/import operations (Required)
• 3+ years Cargowise experience (Preferred)
