International Logistics Specialist
About the role
We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our International Logistics team. The role involves coordination with steamship lines, customs, USDA, inspection/warehouse locations, sales teams, and trucking/dray companies. Extensive communication with customers and sales teams is required to coordinate shipments and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Verify all customer instructions are complete, and all necessary permits/licenses are in place to meet country requirements.
- Book steamship line carrier, determining the best option based on rate, availability, and customer service.
- Coordinate deliveries of full and partial truckloads to trans-load facilities, considering facility costs, port congestion, and steamship line rates.
- Confirm load details in transportation systems, release orders to inspection facilities, and send freezer prints.
- File shipments on the Automated Export System (AES) for government requirements.
- Monitor containers throughout inland and ocean voyages and confirm customs clearance with customers upon arrival at the destination.
- Stay current on constantly changing government requirements for international business and markets.
- Handle daily crisis-management and reschedule shipments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or 3 years of import/export logistics experience.
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in scheduling and planning is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel preferred.
- Ability to work independently and know when to ask questions.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
As a salaried position, you may be required to travel to other facilities, attend company events, or represent the company as needed.

Pay
Base salary range of $58,000 - $62,000.
