International Engineering Intern
About the role
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an International Engineering Intern for its North Kingstown, RI location, with a subsequent placement at Hexagon Germany or Hexagon Italy as part of a year abroad the following academic year. The intern will spend an initial summer term (40 hours per week) working alongside the systems, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams in Rhode Island, then continue the following year at a European site, applying what they learned within one of Hexagon’s engineering or manufacturing organizations. The project scope, mentor relationship, and technical foundation established in stage one carry forward into the international placement.
At Hexagon, we help industrial manufacturers develop today’s disruptive technologies and tomorrow’s life‑changing products through a global portfolio of advanced industrial sensors, measurement technologies, factory automation, simulation, and analytics tools.
We are looking for an undergraduate intern with a background in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering and a strong interest in cross‑disciplinary, international work. Assignments may span mechanical, systems, or manufacturing engineering topics, shaped around the intern’s background and the needs of the engineering group. The International Engineering Intern works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on tasks that contribute directly to the design, manufacture, and assembly of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
