About the role

The Vascular Technologist is expected to interact with patients and their families in a caring, considerate manner and provide care with the highest regard for the patient's mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. The Vascular Technologist is responsible for the performance of vascular studies to include: Carotid duplex, Aorta duplex, Vein mapping, Venous duplex, Arterial physiology studies, Arterial duplex, Renal/SMA arterial duplex, Arterial By-Pass grafts, Dialysis Access grafts, pre-op dialysis access evaluations, venous insufficiency exams, and ABI's. The Vascular Technologist is required to deliver services to infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in all areas of the hospital, within the laboratory setting, and in the physician office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver services to infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in all areas of the hospital, within the laboratory setting, and in the physician office setting.
  • Perform vascular studies including Carotid duplex, Aorta duplex, Vein mapping, Venous duplex, Arterial physiology studies, Arterial duplex, Renal/SMA arterial duplex, Arterial By-Pass grafts, Dialysis Access grafts, pre-op dialysis access evaluations, venous insufficiency exams, and ABI's.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
  • Maintain current AHA BLS certification.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Vascular Technologist required within one year of employment.
  • Prior experience performing peripheral vascular testing required.
  • College degree in Health Science or Allied Health preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Must maintain current AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in that specialty area.
  • 36-40 hours per week/72-80 hours per pay period.
  • 8-hour shifts or unit designated work hours.
  • Scheduled based on the needs of the unit.
  • Rotating weekends and call.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements.

Benefits

THIS POSITION IS FOR A 13-WEEK CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT*

Salary will be $70.00 per hour plus applicable shift differential

Contract employees will be assigned to specific divisions.

To qualify, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in that specialty area.

36-40 hours per week/72-80 hours per pay period

8-hour shifts or unit designated work hours

Scheduled based on the needs of the unit

Rotating weekends and call

This position is temporary and not eligible for benefits

Hired for a 13-week contract not to exceed 26 weeks
