What You'll Do
- Manage the daily scheduling and dispatching of field crews, equipment, and resources across multiple active projects
- Own the day-to-day project schedule, adjusting manpower and equipment to meet customer commitments and maximize efficiency
- Serve as the primary point of communication between customers, field crews, subcontractors, and company leadership
- Cover work orders and ensure crews are fully prepared with equipment and materials before each workday
- Monitor job progress throughout the day and proactively reassign crews as priorities change
- Communicate with customers regarding job status, arrival times, scheduling updates, and project readiness
- Manage fleet maintenance schedules, vehicle inspections, equipment records, and preventative maintenance programs
- Oversee DOT compliance, driver qualification files, vehicle inspections, and random drug and alcohol testing programs
- Manage employee attendance, performance documentation, disciplinary actions, and incident reporting
- Cover hiring support, onboarding documentation, and workforce compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, and documentation within the company's management systems
- Continuously improve scheduling efficiency, resource utilization, and overall operational performance
Must-Haves
- Experience coordinating field operations within construction, specialty contracting, utilities, transportation, or similar industries
- Strong scheduling, dispatching, logistics, or operations management experience
- Able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lead or supervise field personnel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems quickly while balancing customer needs and operational priorities
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Strong sense of accountability, urgency, and ownership
- Professional demeanor with the ability to build strong relationships with both customers and field personnel
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with DOT or FMCSA compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating construction equipment and fleet maintenance
- Background in concrete, demolition, heavy civil, or specialty contracting
- Experience with employee performance management and workforce documentation
- Familiarity with GPS fleet management or dispatch software
- Previous field experience within construction operations
