Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician

About the role

We are growing our Internal Medicine team at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Charlestown, MA, and are seeking a detail-oriented + compassionate Veterinary Technician to join us!

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate all medical math.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Other additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented and compassionate.
• Experience with veterinary medical math and anesthesia induction/recovery.
• Knowledge of ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Ability to set up and assist with endoscopic procedures.
• Basic client education skills.

Qualifications

• Current VTNE certification.
• VTCS certification preferred.
• Experience with internal medicine procedures.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Proficiency in medical math and equipment setup.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Pay range is $24.25 - $49.00 / hour.

Schedule

Weekdays, 4x10 hour shifts, + some on-call expectations.
