Requirements
- Colorado Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM License)
- Board certification from ACVIM
- AVMA PLIT Insurance
- DEA License
- Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced internal medicine care using specialized diagnostics, imaging, and interventional procedures.
- Build and manage a strong internal medicine caseload while maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
- Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, referring veterinarians, and clients to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Lead, mentor, and support technicians and support staff through coaching and teamwork.
- Create client-focused treatment recommendations that balance medical needs, patient welfare, and financial considerations.
- Support operational excellence through effective use of hospital systems, inventory controls, and adherence to AAHA standards of care.
Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in internal medicine, including endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, respiratory, infectious, hematologic, and immune-mediated disorders.
- Exceptional clinical judgement and diagnostic skills.
- Detail oriented, intellectually curious, and capable of managing intricate cases with precision and confidence.

Schedule
Specialty doctors are expected to work 4 x 10 hour shifts weekly with one week on call monthly. Hours and days can vary based on caseload and overall needs of the hospital. Some holidays, weekends, and on-calls may be necessary to fill the needs of the hospital and service.
About the Hospital
Evolution Veterinary Specialists (EVS) is a privately owned, AAHA-accredited, 26,000 sq ft specialty and emergency hospital located at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Our state-of-the-art facility includes a 2,500 sq ft ICU featuring Snyder units and high-flow oxygen therapy, designed to support our most critical patients. We also offer a newly expanded, four-suite surgery center and an on-site blood bank to support advanced procedures and trauma care. Additional highlights include specialty procedure suites, a full imaging center with CT, and cutting-edge technology such as 4D echocardiography, fluoroscopy, laparoscopy, and laser therapy.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is physically active and fast-paced. You’ll need to: lift up to 50 lbs frequently, kneel, stoop, crouch, and be on your feet for long periods, operate medical and office equipment, work around biological hazards and cleaning agents, and communicate clearly in noisy environments.
