BJC Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician for a traditional inpatient-outpatient role at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This continuity-focused, panel-based practice combines outpatient primary care with inpatient rounding, ideal for physicians who value long-term patient relationships and comprehensive care.

About the Role

This is a full-spectrum Internal Medicine position blending inpatient and outpatient care in a traditional practice model. The role emphasizes continuity of care, allowing you to build and maintain meaningful patient relationships both in the clinic and during hospital rounds.

  • 32 patient-facing hours per week (Monday–Friday)
  • 1:6 call rotation with inpatient responsibilities
  • Established patient panel with ability to grow your own
  • Continuity of care model—no handoffs, no unfamiliar patients

Responsibilities

  • Manage the medical care of a patient panel, providing or arranging inpatient hospital care through regular rounds or coordination with hospitalists.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at clinic and outreach locations.
  • Perform and document medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
  • Provide or arrange for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in accordance with BJC policies and Medical Staff bylaws.
  • Collaborate with and teach advanced practice providers, support staff, and care team members.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Licensed Physician
  • Preferred: 2–5 years of experience
