Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and treating localized ailments and diseases
• Conducting and supervising patient care
• Implementing disease prevention and health programs
• Commanding medical units and performing staff functions in health support
• Conducting medical research on diseases of military importance
• Participating in medical education and training

Qualifications And Skills

• Doctor of medicine or osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. institution; foreign graduates require certification
• Current medical license in the U.S., D.C., or Puerto Rico
• Eligibility for board certification and completion of at least one year of graduate medical internship
• U.S. citizenship and age between 21-42 (waivers possible)
