About the role
Skilled Wound Care is hiring Internal Medicine Physicians in McKenzie, TN to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a no‑call, Monday–Friday schedule, allowing you to use your Internal Medicine expertise to treat chronic wounds tied to diabetes, vascular disease and other comorbidities, perform bedside procedures, and follow patients through healing without the pressures of hospitalist censuses, night shifts, or prior authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Use the latest advancements in wound healing to change lives in communities across McKenzie, TN
- Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
- Evaluate and treat chronic, non‑healing and complex wounds
- Manage the underlying conditions that affect wound healing
- Apply advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
- Provide collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post‑acute setting, following patients through healing
Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
- DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
- Open background: We welcome Internal Medicine physicians, hospitalists, Family Medicine physicians, and surgeons; no prior wound care or procedural experience required (comprehensive training provided)

Pay
Average annual earnings: $200,000–$250,000 (no earning cap as an independent contractor); high achievers can earn $300,000+ through performance bonuses. Pay structure: per‑patient and per‑procedure pay, plus quarterly bonus programs.
Schedule
No‑call, Monday–Friday position; no nights, no weekends, no pagers.
