About the role

The Internal Medicine Physician will provide full spectrum care encompassing outpatient clinical and procedural services, collaborating with staff and other clinical departments to facilitate excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full spectrum Internal Medicine care encompassing outpatient clinical and procedural services.
  • Collaborate with staff and other clinical departments within and outside the MTF to facilitate excellent patient care.
  • Participate fully as a member of the 99 MDG medical staff.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases/injuries including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrinology, rheumatology, renal, neurology, and infectious diseases.
  • Respond to telehealth and virtual encounters, telephone consults, and secure messages.
  • Adhere to Defense Health Agency and MTF policies, ensuring compliance with standards for access, PIMR, and HEDIS measures.
  • Coordinate patient care with community health agencies and social programs.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge of current TRICARE standards, disease management, and prevention trends.
  • React promptly and appropriately to provide effective care during emergency situations.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders as required.
  • Follow formulary for prescriptions and obtain approval for non-formulary medications.
  • Prepare and document medical records within 72 hours of patient encounter.
  • Lead and mentor medical residents, physician assistant students, medical students, and other health care disciplines.
  • Participate in educational activities and clinical services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school or osteopathic medicine school with an Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)/American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) accredited Internal Medicine residency.
  • At least 24 months of active Internal Medicine practice or training within the last 36 months.
  • Experience performing medical procedures such as ECG interpretation, CPR, and other relevant skills.
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Permanent, full, and unrestricted Medical License to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.

Schedule and Coverage

Monday-Friday between the hours of 0700-1700. On-call: None. Overage hours are only available for continuity of care requirements or emergencies, not to exceed 600 hours annually.
