Internal Medicine Physician

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive history and physical exams
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and therapies
• Provide preventive services, screenings, immunizations, and wellness exams
• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory conditions
• Perform minor procedures like suturing and joint injections
• Educate and counsel patients and families
• Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care
• Supervise and collaborate with healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
• Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives
• Follow clinical guidelines and organizational policies

Qualifications & Skills

• MD or DO degree with residency in Family or Internal Medicine
• Unrestricted medical license and board certification or eligibility
• DEA registration, BLS (and ACLS if required)
• Strong diagnostic, decision-making, and communication skills
• Leadership abilities and team collaboration
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
• Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
• Cultural competency and community focus

Work Environment

Outpatient clinics, possibly in private practices or community health centers, with a schedule that may include evenings or weekends and on-call duties based on setting.
