About the role
100% outpatient HIV primary care Medical Director position with a 70% administrative / 30% clinical split, no call responsibilities, and low patient volume (7–8 patients per day). The role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm with the last patient scheduled at 3:30 pm. Located in Knoxville, Tennessee, nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and seated against the banks of the Tennessee River. You will lead and collaborate with a team of one MD and five APPs across multiple Tennessee locations under a travel‑based leadership model, with a primary home site. Services include HIV testing, treatment, and prevention; an in‑house pharmacy; mental health, housing, food, and transportation support; and robust harm‑reduction initiatives (syringe services, naloxone, fentanyl test strips).
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient HIV primary care to patients.
- Oversee administrative functions (70% of time) including program management, quality improvement, and operational oversight.
- Lead clinical team (1 MD, 5 APPs) and coordinate multidisciplinary care (behavioral health, pharmacy, social services).
- Ensure delivery of comprehensive wraparound services: HIV testing/treatment/prevention, in‑house pharmacy, mental health, housing, food, transportation, and harm‑reduction programs.
